Janet Stovall tells the story of how a university made changes to make a given department more inclusive for African-Americans. She also speaks about how businesses can dismantle racism, given the millions of people in the workplace. Studies have shown that ethnically diverse companies perform better than the norm and have higher revenue growth. There is a strong business case for diversity. It is good for business if your employees are representative of the customers they serve. Companies can mandate diversity, but inclusion must be cultivated. She explains how companies can make management accountable for achieving diversity and inclusion.
