Algonquin College

Algonquin College is one of 24 colleges in Ontario offering applied post-secondary learning and one of only 2 colleges in the National Capital region. We offer 58 programs in science, technology and trades including 5 bachelor's degrees (2 in collaboration with Carleton University) and 1 engineering degree (nearing CEAB accreditation).

AWSN

2018-2019 has AWSN celebrating their 25th year of challenging the status quo in STEM fields. AWSN continues to work for the social and economic value that diversity and inclusion of all people in the fields of STEM can bring, including women, youth, Canadian newcomers, Indigenous peoples and those in rural locations across Alberta.

Bow Valley College

Bow Valley College fills an important role: equipping individuals with needed skills through fast, focused & flexible learning opportunities. Only comprehensive college in the region, we provide applied education, with emphasis on meeting the competencies set by industry so graduates can achieve throughout their careers.

Brock University

Faculty of Mathematics & Science Located close to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Brock is the only university in Canada within the core of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserve. The Faculty of Math and Science at Brock, with six departments and two centres, offers 21 undergraduate and graduate programs, 16 of which have the Co-Op options. As faculty members are close to their students, undergraduate students in every department have ample opportunities to get involved in research at early stages of their education. Brock embraces gender equality and diversity and welcomes domestic and international students.

Canadian Association of Girls in Science (CAGIS)

The Canadian Association for Girls In Science (CAGIS) is Canada’s largest and longest-running STEM club for girls, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming youth aged 7-16. This award-winning club, founded in 1992, supports interest in Science, Technology, Trades, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with both in-person, local clubs and virtual programming. CAGIS Local Clubs meet monthly to go on STEM adventures led by experts in a variety of fields. These events often occur at the workplaces of our STEM experts, giving members a behind-the-scenes view and allowing them to experience the lab and field environment for themselves. CAGIS Virtual members explore STEM online, at home with fun, hands-on activities led by real STEM experts. CAGIS members have built model planes with pilots, made robots and programmed them to execute tasks with engineers, collected samples in tall grass ecosystems with ecologists, explored the balance and motion of figure skating with physicists, and more.

Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba

Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba regulates the profession of engineering and geoscience in Manitoba and serves and protects the public interest by governing and advancing the practices of professional engineering and geoscience in accordance with the Engineering and Geoscientific Professions Act of Manitoba.

Engineers Yukon

Engineers Yukon is the operating name of the Association of Professional Engineers of Yukon. Engineers Yukon is a self-governing body of Professional Engineers that regulates and governs the engineering profession in Yukon under the authority of the Engineering Profession Act. This is achieved by setting and maintaining high academic, experience, and professional practice standards for all members. Only individuals licensed by Engineers Yukon are permitted by law to undertake and assume responsibility for engineering projects in Yukon. In addition, the Engineering Profession Act requires that all partnerships, corporations, and other such entities, which practice engineering have a Permit to Practice regardless of their size or whether the organization is practicing for internal or external reasons

Family Services of Peel

Family Services of Peel (FSP) was established in 1971 as a non-profit, registered charitable organization. As a multi-service agency, FSP provides the people of Peel with professional counselling services, educational programs, employment support services, support for people with developmental disabilities and their families, as well as support for victims of violence and abuse.

Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario

The Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario (GECO) is an advocacy group dedicated to promoting gender equity and justice across the province. The Coalition works to advance policies that address gender-based disparities, amplify the voices of marginalized genders, and challenge systems of inequality. GECO focuses on creating meaningful change in areas such as healthcare, education, and employment, while raising public awareness and providing resources to support gender justice. Through research, collaboration, and advocacy, GECO strives to build a more equitable and inclusive society for all genders in Ontario.

Irving Shipbuilding Inc.- Women Making Waves

Shipbuilding in Canada is creating jobs, driving innovation, and fuelling local economies across the country. The work being done is a generational employment opportunity, generating a coast-to coast-to coast supply chain that has seen over $6.664 billion in investments.

MAPSWS

Progressing Women in Trades is New Brunswick’s provincial bilingual network and resource hub that aims to promote, support and mentor girls and women in all skilled trades sectors, such as: automotive, construction, forestry, manufacturing, maintenance, truck, and transport, etc. Falling under the MAP Strategic Workforce Services Inc. umbrella, the goal of the industry led and government supported organization is dedicated to advocating for diverse, inclusive and welcoming workplaces through effective mentorship training, change management strategies and trades professional networks. MAPSWS currently delivers four program/services: New Brunswick Mentor Apprentice Program (NBMAP), New Boots: Progressing Women in Trades, First in Trades (FIT) and Skilled Trades Exploration Program (STEP).

New Brunswick Community College (NBCC)

With flexible educational programming that is responsive to the social and economic needs of the Province, New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is a provincially-recognized public post-secondary institution reputed for producing skilled, knowledgeable graduates who are contributing to the Province’s prosperity. In addition to one- and two-year certificate and diploma programs, NBCC provides specialized and customized training to meet the needs of specific sectors and communities, and delivers apprenticeship training to more than 1,800 learners annually. NSERC Chairs for Women in Science and Engineering

The CWSE Network is comprised of the five regional NSERC CWSE’s across Canada, who work towards the same goals of increasing the participation of women and other under-represented groups in the natural sciences and engineering, and to provide role models for these folks who are active in, and considering, careers in these fields.

OACETT

The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) is a non-profit, self-governing, professional association of over 25,000 members. OACETT is Ontario’s independent certifying body for engineering and applied science technicians and technologists and confers the designations C.Tech. (Certified Technician) and C.E.T. (Certified Engineering Technologist). OACETT promotes the interests of engineering and applied science technicians and technologists in industry, educational institutions, the public and government.

SCWIST

SCWIST (The Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology) is a not-for-profit society that specializes in improving the presence and influence of women and girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in Canada. SCWIST promotes participation and advancement through education, networking, mentorship, collaborative partnerships and advocacy.

Techsploration

Techsploration’s award-winning 4-phase program model provides young women and non-binary youth in Grades 9 through 12 with opportunities to explore science, engineering, trades, and technology occupations, while creating awareness about the critical role of work in their lives. It also helps them understand the significance of high school math and science for their future careers.

TGC (formerly TechGirls Canada)

TGC works to advance the economic performance and outcomes for women in Canada's STEM fields. We do this through innovative research and collaboration across sectors and develop resources, tools, policies, programs, and leadership initiatives. We work with artists and communities to present our findings in beautiful, accessible, and compelling ways. TGC is also the Canada Centre for Immigrant Women in STEM, who represent 52% of Canada's women-in-STEM workforce. Despite its world-class experience and expertise, this high-potential and powerful talent pool faces the worst outcomes when it comes to unemployment, underemployment, and wage gap in Canada. We believe that improving economic equity for immigrant women in STEM will improve economic outcomes for all women in STEM. We are committed to creating conditions of success that enable women of all colours, ages, and abilities to THRIVE.

The Department of Pediatrics is located at the BC Children s Hospital (BCCH). Conceptually and practically, it has a dual identity: it is the Department of Pediatrics of the Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia (UBC), and it is the Department of Pediatrics, BC Children s Hospital, an Agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). As such, the Head is not only the Head of the Department of Pediatrics at UBC, but is also the Chief, Pediatric Medicine, BCCH. The Department s faculty, almost all of whom are pediatricians, are academic or clinical appointees of the University of British Columbia and are based at BCCH.

WEST

Women’s Enterprise Skills Training of Windsor Inc. (WEST) has been offering various training programs to visible minority, newcomer, immigrant women and other women in vulnerable positions in the Windsor-Essex County, which is located at the far end of Southern Ontario, sharing a border with Detroit, Michigan in the US. WEST has been a leader in focusing on the recruitment, retention and advancement of women in SETT sectors such as skilled trades while helping them further their careers with apprenticeship opportunities. WEST offers a wide array of services including: Language and Skills Training; Settlement Services; Employment Services; Community Information and Referral; Skills Enhancement Training; Women in Skilled Trades; Women in Construction Trades, Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship program for Women, Young Women in Leadership And Development Program (L.E.A.D); Young Women in Motion, and the Science, Engineering, Artistry and Technology (SEAT) Program among others

Women in Aerospace Canada (WIA-Canada) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to expanding women’s opportunities for leadership and professional development as well as increasing their visibility in the aerospace community by creating a professional network in Canada and across the globe.

WISEST's mission is to advance diversity while empowering women in STEM with the goal of shifting the narrative around who can thrive in STEM. Based at the University of Alberta, WISEST sets students up for success by engaging students at critical points on their educational journey primarily from grade 6-12.

WISE NL is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that seeks to increase the participation of young and adult women in rewarding and exciting careers in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics.

Office to Advance Women Apprentices Newfoundland and Labrador (OAWANL)

The Office to Advance Women Apprentices Newfoundland and Labrador (OAWANL) has a mandate to increase employment opportunities for women in the skilled trades. This is achieved through the provision of support for tradeswomen with career services, employment supports, and networking.

Women in Engineering (WES)

The idea for hosting the Women in Engineering Summit was born in 2016 when founder Claudia Gomez-Villeneuve, a pipeline engineer at the time, saw the challenges and the rewards for a woman engineer to stay in the profession. Then she learned of the 30 by 30 Initiative by Engineers Canada and saw the opportunity to create a space where experiences and practical solutions for staying in the profession from graduation until retirement could be shared. The 30 by 30 Initiative will help Canada achieve the key developmental target of having 30 percent of newly licensed engineers in Canada to identify as women.

Women in Resource Development (WRDC)

WRDC is a provincial, non-profit-organization in Newfoundland and Labrador committed to increasing women’s participation in trades and technology. WRDC offers a variety of programs and service to address challenges surrounding the attraction, recruitment, retention, and advancement of women in these sectors.

Women’s Network PEI (WNPEI)

Women's Network PEI (WNPEI) is a not-for-profit organization based in the province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. We work to strengthen and support community efforts to improve the status of women in our society. Through our project work, we promote equality, using feminist analysis and practice, and address issues that affect women in our province. We provide a forum for the voices of PEI women and opportunities for women to realize power, knowledge, skills, abilities, vision and financial security. We also act as a referral service to help women find programs and services they may need.

YWCA Halifax

YWCA Halifax Shift Change project began in 2018 with a question of how to further women’s economic security in the field of skilled trades, funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE). The Shift Change project continues with the renewed support of WAGE and the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency. YWCA Halifax has been engaged in employment programs for over 150 years with women, many of whom are in the experience of poverty. The YWCA Halifax is part of a national feminist movement and has joined the Nova Scotian women’s movement in skilled trades to help support women to access secure jobs with family-sustaining wages and increasing the number of women working and advancing in their careers in this sector.

YWCA Hamilton

YWCA Hamilton Provides meaningful, accessible services to create opportunities, amplify voices, and co-create gender inclusive and equitable communities. YWCA Hamilton has a long tradition of advocacy in Hamilton Ontario and has been a strong voice, advocating for the improved status of women locally and through our affiliation with YWCA Canada and the World YWCA.
