This 2-page brochure contains a brief summary in English of the 30-page French document entitled Pour que l’égalité de droit devienne une égalité de fait : le Plan d’action 2007-2010. This is the first 3-year action plan to support the 10-year policy developed by the Government of Quebec, entitled Turning Equality in Law into Equality in Fact: Government Policy for Gender Equality (2007-2017). The action plan was set up to be supported by a department with an equality mandate enshrined in law, the Secrétariat à la condition féminine, a network of officers in charge of gender equality in government departments and agencies, and the Conseil du statut de la femme and its regional structure. The action plan also included the training of analysts and Managers regarding how to integrate Gender-based Analysis (GBA) into national, regional, and local governments, specifically in 15 policies, programs, and measures. The plan also included many initiatives and requirements for improving accountability for implementing the government policy and the action plan.
