This document published by the United Nations provides a great overview of the achievements and challenges in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in Iceland and of how the Icelandic Government has taken systematic steps to introduce and promote gender equality in all areas of society, by amending legislation, creating new laws, running detailed four-year action plans, and allocating the funding needed for individual projects on equality issues, etc.
