(OTTAWA, ON – September 24, 2024) – President Kim Bouffard, and the Board of the Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology (CCWESTT) are pleased to announce the appointment of Bonnie Douglas, PMP, as the organization’s first Executive Director and Senior Project Manager effective immediately.
Bonnie has been a leader in creating change for workers in science, engineering, trades, and technology (SETT) as Project Manager at CCWESTT for the past five years.
Bonnie’s experience in engineering and leadership in food manufacturing developed her passion for solving problems, transforming the workplace, and advocating for workers in the sector.
“The Board is excited about the energy and expertise that Bonnie brings to CCWESTT,” says Kim Bouffard. “Over the last five years, Bonnie has demonstrated she has the ability to build relationships and advance systemic change in SETT workplaces. This is a significant milestone for CCWESTT. We are thrilled to appoint her to this new role and support her as she continues to take CCWESTT’s work to the next level.”
A natural connector and strategic leader, Bonnie will be leading the CCWESTT team in their systemic change project work while building on the collaborative efforts of member groups to strengthen the coalition’s efforts in advocating for a diverse and inclusive workforce in SETT.
“I’m excited to continue the important work CCWESTT is doing,” says Bonnie. “With two national projects underway, we’ve built a lot of momentum. The coalition has a long history of collaborative efforts and our member groups are doing critical work, which provides a foundation to expand gender equity work in SETT across Canada. I’m thrilled to lead the organization in our work towards a more equitable future.”
