This report, done in collaboration with Women in Communications and Technology and the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba, and supported by the Future Skills Centre and Government of Ontario, delves into the barriers faced by women in the ICT sector and explores strategies to enhance their representation. The findings are based on a review of academic literature, Statistics Canada data, industry reports and 20 in-depth interviews focused on equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) practices across ICT firms. Additionally, a desk review of EDI best practices was conducted, examining publicly available corporate policies and actions. The analysis centres on six organizational aspects derived from the Diversity Institute’s Diversity Assessment Tool (DAT).
