The 2020-2025 gender equality strategy is the roadmap for the European Commission’s work towards gender equality and sets out the EU’s policy objectives and the actions it will take to help achieve them. Drawing from the 2020–2025 gender equality strategy, the EU action plan for gender equality and women’s empowerment 2021–2025 (GAP III) calls for a gender-equal world. The year 2022 was the year in which Europe gradually emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also the third year of implementing the strategy and the year that landmark steps were taken to enhance women’s rights and gender equality. The report focuses on key actions and achievements to improve gender equality by EU institutions and Member States. It also, gives inspiring examples from the Member States and EU-funded projects in these areas. The report also contains key data on the current status of gender equality in the EU.
