The Government of the province of Quebec has established equal pay for work of equal value by negotiating the wages to be paid (regardless of gender) to the entire labour force of Red Seal tradespeople, apprentices, general labourers, helpers, etc. in the “Industrial” sector of the construction trades throughout the province. This Collective Agreement also specifies hours of work, overtime, leave benefits, the process for filing grievances, occupational health and safety, employee discipline, the insurance and pension plan, etc. Negotiations take place at the provincial level and for the entire labour force and all construction firms. This collective agreement is in force until April 30, 2025.
