CCWESTT accepted program submissions for CCWESTT 2024 in Victoria, B.C. in October and November 2023. The submission deadline has passed. This conference is inspired by the CCWESTT 2023 Gap Analysis Report.

CCWESTT 2024 Conference Theme

 

Charting a Course: Navigating Systemic Change

 

“It takes a system to change a system.” – CCWESTT Gap Analysis Report.

 

CCWESTT 2024 will build on the knowledge and experience of 30 years of conferences. The themes will focus on overcoming systemic barriers towards gender equity in SETT (science, engineering, trades, and technology). Gather with our community for crucial conversations and collectively, we’ll ignite bold actions for change.

 

Note: This is an in-person event. All speakers must register to attend and present in Victoria, B.C. CCWESTT 2024 is an English-speaking conference; however, we welcome presentations in any official language in what is known as “Canada.”

Presentation Types and Formats:

  • Presentation (20 min)
  • Panel discussion (30 min)
  • Interactive workshop (30 min-1 hour)

Successful pathways to changes in laws, policies, and rules at institutions and government

Selection Criteria

The proposal selection committee will review abstracts that meet the proposal requirements. Preference will be given to submissions that align with the CCWESTT 2024 theme. Notification of acceptance will be emailed to the primary contact in January 2024.

 

Speaker Information and Contact Details:

Please provide a short biography (maximum 150 words), a paragraph on how your lived experience helps to frame your work (maximum 200 words), and contact information (email address and phone number)for all participating speakers and panellists.

For each abstract, there should be one primary contact to liaise with the organizing committee.

 

Proposal Requirements 

The abstract proposal should include the following:

  • Session title
  • Description (max 250 words)
  • Presentation type and format
  • The area of focus for the session
  • Presenter information (contact information, short biography, lived experience)
